Here we come a-wassailing among the leaves of green, Here we come a-wandering so fairly to be seen Here we come a-wandering so fairly to be seen Chorus: love and joy come to you and to you wassail to God bless you and send you a happy new year, God send you a happy new year We are not daily beggars who beg from door to door But we're the neighbour's children, who you have seen before We're the neighbour's children, who you have seen before Chorus God bless the master of the house and then the mistress too And all the little children who round the table grew All the little children who round the table grew Chorus I have a little purse, it's made of leather skin I need a silver sixpence to line it well within I need a silver sixpence to line it well within Chorus Here we come a-wassailing among the leaves of green, Here we come a-wandering so fairly to be seen Here we come a-wandering so fairly to be seen Chorus

about

2016 MIX
This is one of my favourite traditional christmas carols, and has been ever since I first heard Kate Rusby's amazing version. The act of wassailing - going carolling from door to door - is beautifully demonstrated in it.
This is a new mix of the track, along with an added B-side, a piano piece I have arranged based on the song Shalom. It's cute. It's also got a new cover, mixing the old illustration by Grace Harrison with some additions by Rhii Rendell
Words and music: Trad arr. Dan Simpson
Mixed by Matt Ide and Dan Simpson
Recorded by Matt Ide, Alec Wilcock and David Bubb
Cover art by Rhii Rendell and Grace Harrison

Thanks to Matt, Dave, Alex and Lucy for their suggestions
Thanks to those who have given bits which eventually didn't make it
Thanks to Rhii and Grace for the amazing art

Dan Simpson is quite good at playing music, but less good at writing a bio in a very small number of characters.
